Swizz Beats Stops By The Gallery @ DD172 (Creative Control TV)
GALLERY @ DD172: SWIZZ BEATZ from Creative Control on Vimeo.
I really need to take a trip to NY to visit Dame's DD172, it seems like there is really a renaissance about to spark and that building seems to be ground zero. Anyway the video is dope, it's always really cool to see the more artistic/intellectual side of these guys!!!

I was waiting for this video to drop after I heard Curt@!ns mention it in an interview last week. This song is amazing, i'm glad there are visuals to go with it now!!! DOPE BOY C

Curren$y Performing at St.-James Church
LAMC Presents: Curren$y from Creative Control on Vimeo.
My favorite rapper Spitta continues his '09 grind in the new year, popping up just about everywhere:
The recreation of rebellion comes with the resistance of rules and intended purpose, the world is your oyster when rules are abandoned. The people at Less Artists More Condos go by this credo. Any location with the the capacity to hold people and plug in a sound system automatically becomes a venue for the arts. Their latest show, held in St. James Church in the Lower East Side, featured a lineup of indie rock acts the likes of The Beets, The Tony Castles, Beach Fossils, and Total Slacker. In the impromptu fashion of a LAMC show, The Tony Castles invited Curren$y to come up and rock with the band. The juxtaposition of throngs of partygoers in the usually stolid aisles of a catholic church is enough to steam pleats out of the pope’s robe andCreative Control was there to recount the sacrilege in all of its glory.

Gorillaz return with Plastic Beach
I've always liked the Gorillaz (at first it was for their cool videos, I didnt get into their music until some time later) so its really exciting to hear that their new album is dropping on March 9th.
Via highsnobiety:
Five years on from the release of Demon Days, Murdoc Niccals and co. return with Plastic Beach. The band have taken up residence, recording on a secret floating island deep in the South Pacific, a Plastic Beach HQ, made up of the detritus, debris and washed up remnants of humanity. This Plastic Beach is the furthest point from any landmass on Earth; the most deserted spot on the planet.
